Pakistan procures CASC Rainbow (CAI HONG) CH-4 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)

Pakistan has procured around 12-24 CH-4 attack and reconnaissance drones, a mixture of CH-4A (unarmed Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance, ISR versions) and CH-4B (armed attack drones, UCAV versions). Delivery of the drones began in the last week of January 2021.

CH-4 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

 The drones have a maximum endurance of 40 hours, a 14-hour-mission endurance window and an external payload capacity of 345 kgs (or up to 6 precision guided strike weapons) in addition to its electro-optical turret and synthetic aperture radar. There are four to six hard points for ATGMs and precision-guided bombs with the primary weapon being the Norinco HJ/AKD-10 Red arrow ATGM.


 The drone has a maximum range of 2,750 kilometers and a service ceiling of 47,300 feet.
