Arab Spring | Tunisia

10 years ago on 17 Dec 2010, 26-year old Tunisian street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire starting the Arab Spring, which changed the outlook of the whole Region. Protests over injustice & state marginalization were one part of the story & the other side was“Greater Middle East".

 

It started earlier but in June 2006 in Tel Aviv,the then US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice redefined the Strategy about Reshaping of MiddleEast now it was“New Middle East”.It was more of a military roadmap,which was later changed into the Arab Spring under this new doctrine.

 

Creating an arc of instability across the MENA with what the officials described as “constructive chaos". The idea was to introduce "Freedom" & "Democracy" in MENA, which for decades was ruled by the authoritarian & totalitarian regimes (Dictators), the idea was to bring what US deep state thought would block of secular democratic governments having a positive attitude towards particularly towards western domination of International political & economic system & Israeli domination at regional level.

 

It all got messed up when the conservative & Islamic particularly the "Muslim Brotherhood" & MB-influenced parties started winning the elections across the MENA. It was a major upset which not only reducing US influence over these countries but also mainstreamed popular anti-Israel sentiments. The order in shaping was not a Pro-Israel Liberal Democratic but was popular Anti-Israeli right-wing lead Democratic order. Now it was totally a different Region with Morsi & Erdogan leading this drive, MB was also leading the campaign against Assad.

 

The fall of Assad would secure the rise of MB in Syria which eventually would have created a new arc of Islamic Resistance from Hamas in Palestine to MB in Egypt, Syria & Libya & Erdogan in Turkey. "Constructive Chaos" turned into a "Destructive Chaos" soon after ISIS joined the theater, with the surprising rise of ISIS now new order was shaping across MENA. But not under the umbrella of Brotherhood but under ISIS ‘The Grand Chessboard" got interesting when Russia, UAE & Iran joined the play. With this latest development in Tunisia.
