Key characters of 1971 tragedy

 What happened to most of the key characters of 1971 Tragedy? In this article, I will be sharing the accidents happened who were involved in breaking Pakistan and secession of Bangladesh.

1. Sheikh Mujib Ur Rehman. 

He was killed with almost all his family in a military coup.

 2. Indira Gandhi

She was shot dead by her Sikh guards. Her sons also met unnatural deaths eventually.

  

3. Yahya Khan. 

Died a paralyzed outcast man with memory loss at his home. His family was destitute to the point that his son had to beg President Bhutto for any job.

4. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. 

Hanged by military junta. Children except 1 also met unnatural deaths.

 

5. Gen AAK Niazi. 

Died a lonely, excommunicated man.

6. Air Marshal Rahim Khan. 

Died alone in US. If not for staff of Pak embassy, no one would have been at his funeral except his daughter.

7. Maj Gen Shabeg Singh (Father of Mukti Bahini). 

Killed by Indian Army during Op Blue Star.

8. Gen Kuldip Singh Brar.

 One of the first Indians to enter Dhaka. Still a hunted man due to his role in Op Blue Star.

9. Gen Arun Shridhar Vaidya. 

Brigade Commander of an Armd Formation the assault. Killed by Sikhs for his role in Op Blue Star.

10. Gen Zia Ur Rehman. 

One of the first Bengali Officers to defect and declare independence (Killed his OC Lt Col Janjua, West Pak Comrades and their families before that). Assassinated by military.

11. Taj ud din Ahmad. 

First Provisional PM of Mukti Bahini Govt. Shot dead by Bangladeshi military.

  

12. Syed Nazr ul Islam. 

First provisional President of Mukti govt. Shot dead by Bengali military.

13. Muhammad Mansoor Ali 

Important leader of Mukti / AL and ex PM of Bangladesh. Shot dead by military.

14. Abul Hasnat Kamrruzzan

Cabinet member of Mukti govt. Shot dead by Bengali military.

15. Gen Khaled Mosharraf. 

Earliest defectors to Mukti Bahini and and a key commander. Killed by Bengali military.

 

16. Capt Khondkar Nazimul Huda 

Key accused in Agartala Sazish case. Killed by Bengali military.

     

17. Lt Col Abu Taher 

A key mukti leader. Court Martial and hanged by Bengali military.

18. Maqbool Bhatt. 

Accused by Pak of criminal conspiracy with India in Ganga Hijacking to shut down Pak aerial routes to East Pak. Hanged illegally by Indian govt after alleged betrayal of comrades like Amanullah Khan who ordered murder of an Indian diplomat in UK
