Why BLA and TTP attacks have been able to cause casualties more than usual?

Out of all the reasons there are some very Sub-Tactical realities which analyst have either missed or have not talked about. The ferocity of attack stems from the availability of technology with These terrorists groups which was unthinkable without either an overt support by an established entity or an covert support to establish a proxy under uncontrollable events as happened in Afghanistan. So what are these technologies that are now in the hands of these terrorists causing havoc at Sub-Tactical level. A simple analysis of equipment carried by BLA terrorist says it all, which is certainly far superior to the one carried by any FC soldier. It won't be wrong to say that these terrorists if not equal, were nearly as equipped as an SSG soldier.

Let's dissect these pictures below. Object marked as 1 is DBAL (Dual Beam Aiming Laser) that can be attached to any weapon for accurate fire in dark. The attachment produces IR signature as laser for accurate target engagement and beam for area illumination.

Imagine you are standing in pitch dark and enemy has you zeroed on his weapon but you can't see it cause IR signatures can't be seen my naked eye and can only be seen with an Imagine Illuminator or Infrared Night sights. So this bring us to Object marked as 2 that is a US made AN PVS 7D night sight which was head mounted on BLA terrorist in the pic. This provided the ability for all BLA terrorist to see all that is in dark and accurately aim on the soldiers that knew not the techno capability of the attacking terrorist.

The BLA terrorists didn't only rely on infrared & Image Illumination alone, they were also equipped with Thermal Imaging Sights that read the body signature to make a distinction in dark. The thermal sight can be seen attached on the Rifle carried by BLA terrorist & marked as 3.

The recently released pictures by TTP media also present the same. TTP terrorist were able to target and snipe 4 FC soldiers on Pak-Afg Border, whereas the response from FC was a traditional one, trying to seek enemy in dark with estimation and speculation.

 

It is evident that these attacks came as a surprise because FC in Bln & KPK never excepted these terrorists to be so well equipped. Thanks to Uncle Sam & Afghan Special Units, proliferation of these tech gadgets on our western border would be norm even in future terrorist attacks. It is certain that FC has alot to learn from these attacks and surely they will evolve as per changing threat, but what's more important is to take these gadgets off the ground and make them inaccessible. They are still worth buying for and surly are available in Afghanistan.
